Baseball: Hatters Fall to North Penn
The Hatboro-Horsham High School baseball team lost to North Penn on Tuesday.

The Hatters (8-9 overall, 5-7 SOL Continental) fell 7-1 to North Penn (8-4 SOL Continental) on Tuesday afternoon. The Knights scored six runs in the first two innings and cruised to the victory behind Bryce Mengel's complete game effort. Mengel struck out six and allowed just three hits and a walk.
After the first two batters were retired in the first inning, Eddie Posavec walked and Chris Kersey was hit by a pitch. Jared Melone's double scored them both to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. In the second, the Knights scored four runs on the strength of a couple walks, two bunt singles, an error and a Brady West double.
The Hatters' Zach Prendergast led the offense going 2-2 with a walk and an RBI. Eric Lane was 1-3 with a double. Dave Brown was strong in relief, pitching two scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out one.
