Rawa and his wife Christie especially enjoyed the fire department’s open house, where visitors tried their hand extinguishing small fires.
The day began with an 8 a.m. 5K Walk/Run, won by Samuel Haugh with a time of 17 minutes and 34 seconds. A youth fishing contest followed, where Kyle Ropski, 11, won an award for catching the first fish of the day.

The rest of Horsham Day unfolded with vendors, games and music, interspersed with sessions of Cow Plop Bingo, puppet shows and war re-enactors demonstrating their firearms.
“The weather is fantastic, and we have a wonderful group of vendors and fantastic food,” said organizer Mary Dare, Executive Vice President of the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce.
An inflatable, child-sized amusement park drew many families, as did the Horsham Lions’ dunk tank.
Throughout the day volleyball, softball and hockey tournaments gave athletes a day in the sun. Visitors stopped by tents manned by local businesses, municipal departments and non-profit groups such as Park Creek Watershed Association and the Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue.
The food tent featured local cuisine, including Tonelli’s pizza and roast pork hand-carved by the Horsham Lions.
Organizer Mark Hudson, Director of the township’s Parks and Recreation department, was grateful for all of the people who collaborated on the event. “We’ve got a great group of volunteers that come out and make the day successful,” he said.
