Ex-Lacrosse Coach From Horsham Pleads Guilty After Sending Nude Photos To Girls

John Mallozzi, first arrested in 2019 for sending nude pics to underage girls, pleaded guilty to corruption of minors.

HORSHAM, PA — A former lacrosse instructor accused of inappropriate conduct with underage women was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to corruption of minors this week, according to court records.

John Mallozzi, 22, who was arrested back in the summer of 2019 and charged with sending nude photos to girls he had coached at a Wissahickon Middle School lacrosse camp in Lower Gwynedd Township, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor corruption of minors charge on Sept. 22, and, while he could have been looking at spending around five years in prison, he instead was given probation, the court docket sheet in the case shows.

Court records show that Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Henry S. Hilles, III, imposed the sentence of probation, which includes an order that Mallozzi comply with "restrictive conditions of probation," including that he avoid any contact with the victims and witnesses in the case and that he undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation, after which he has been ordered to comply with any recommendations to come out of the evaluation.

Mallozzi had the felony charges dismissed as part of his agreement to plead guilty to the corruption of minors charge.

Patch previously reported that Mallozzi had been arrested following accusations from two girls at the lacrosse camp that he had sent them nude photos of himself via the social messaging app Snapchat back in 2018.

Whitpain Township police stated that Mallozzi ended up admitting in a written statement that he had asked numerous girls under 18 to send him nude photos of themselves, according to the previous news report.

Mallozzi ended up being fired from his camp counselor position.

Horsham Township police subsequently filed additional felony counts against Mallozzi that accused him of sexually assaulting two other young women.
