From Edibles to Hurley’s American Grille

'Restaurant Impossible' makes 'never' a reality.

Celebrity chef Robert Irvine and his “Restaurant Impossible” team have infused countless restaurants with $10,000 in renovations and new leases on life

Irvine, by his own admission, had “never” changed a restaurant’s name–until he came to Horsham, that is.

The Food Network cooking guru is the mastermind behind the newly named Hurley’s American Grille.

General Manager Steven Hurley said he loves the name change.

“I had no attachment to the other name,” he said.

His cousin, John “Johnny” Hurley Jr., said the name change has caused “a lot of confusion” among previous customers.

Conflicting signage in the Horsham Road shopping plaza likely contributes to that. The sign on the front of the business touts the new name, while the plaza sign listing all of the strip mall businesses still says Edibles Restaurant & Pub.

On Sunday, while doing paperwork prior to opening, his father, John Hurley Sr., was wearing an Edibles Restaurant & Pub T-shirt.

“A lot of people were used to the Edibles,” Johnny Hurley said. “It’s a new change. We’re going in a new direction.”

Johnny Hurley describes the “before” as being an “old-style family” restaurant and said that since the name, menu and décor changes, Hurley’s American Grille has “more life to it.”
