Gold Star Garden Dedication Ceremony Scheduled For Sunday In Hatboro

A groundbreaking for the new Gold Star Memorial Garden in Hatboro took place this spring. It's dedicated to fallen service members.

HATBORO, PA — It's been a long time in the making, but the borough is finally ready to dedicate its new Gold Star Garden honoring fallen U.S. servicemembers.

The dedication for the new memorial will be taking place on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m., borough officials announced this week.

"This garden was constructed through the extremely hard work of the Hatboro Public Works Department and the final result is an incredible addition to Miller Meadow and Hatboro as a whole," the borough posted to Facebook. "All are welcome and we hope you join us for this very prestigious event!"

Officials warned motorists that South York Road northbound will be closed between Warminster and Horsham Roads on Sunday from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during the memorial dedication.

Intersecting roads along this stretch of South York Road will be barricaded, officials warned, and only southbound traffic will be allowed travel along South York Road.

Southbound traffic would only be briefly interrupted around 10:30 in the morning when Gold Star families are escorted to the Miller Meadow memorial site.
