In a post on the Borough of Hatboro Facebook page, local officials said that Allen, who joined the Hatboro Police Department in 2013 and who was instrumental in starting up the department’s K9 unit, remained in stable, but critical condition as of Monday at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia.
“Officer Allen’s family, friends and coworkers appreciate the thoughts and prayers that have been offered,” the Borough’s Facebook post reads. “The Montgomery County Hero Fund is providing support and relief to Officer Allen’s family during this difficult time but we need your help. As always 100% of donations will go to the Allen Family and the Montgomery County Hero Fund will cover all fees and costs.”

The borough says that Allen and his German Shepard K9 partner, Louie, are a “fixture in town.” The two trained together in patrol and narcotics detection, and they are a familiar sight often seen paired up together.
Allen has also served as a field training officer in Hatboro, he is the department’s first aid and CPR instructor, and he is a member of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force.
The police department is asking for the public’s help with medical costs, and anyone interested in donating can visit the Montgomery County Hero Fund here.
