Horsham Police Knock Down Acme Attack Rumor
A post has been going around Facebook claiming two women were nearly attacked outside the grocery store. Police say it's not true.
HORSHAM, PA — Police in Horsham are shooting down a social-media rumor about an attack at a local grocery store.
On Thursday, police posted that they'd gotten "numerous messages" about a post that has been making the rounds on Facebook and other social media in the area.
The false post, which claims to have been "received from a friend," claims that a woman was "nearly carjacked" at the Acme in Horsham. The copy-pasted text, which does not include anyone's name or a date of the supposed incident, says a man in the store parking lot first followed another woman, then the writer.
