Horsham’s NaBrasa Steakhouse Eyes Upgrades

It may become easier to enjoy the tastes of NaBrasa Brazilian Steakhouse at home as part of various improvements and new additions that the Horsham-based eatery is planning.

One of the upgrades the restaurant is considering, according to Horsham Township Manager Bill Walker, is the addition of a takeout area and four "curbside pickup" parking spaces at the entrance on Jefferson Avenue. 

Other plans include enclosing the restaurant's two existing patios, as well as undertaking facade improvements along Route 611 and Jefferson Avenue, according to Walker. 

Planned streetscape improvements - curbing, sidewalk, grass, trees and bushes - on 611 would result in the relocation of the existing 10-12 front parking spaces to an overflow parking lot that NaBrasa is leasing across the street, he said. 

"They don’t have a parking problem because of having that lease agreement across the street," Walker said. 

Besides aesthetics and additional parking, NaBrasa is looking to convert its second floor office space into a retail shop of sorts to sell "fancy, upscale beers" available in the restaurant, Walker said. 

NaBrasa representatives came before the Horsham Township Council this week seeking a waiver of subdivision and land development. Walker said the governing body reviewed the planned modifications, but took no action. 

Patch was unsuccessful in reaching Celso Leite, NaBrasa's manager of operations, for comment. 

Some of the proposed changes require zoning relief, according to Walker. NaBrasa is slated to go before the zoning hearing board on March 12. The council entered a neutral position with conditions, Walker said, noting that the lease agreement for adjacent parking was one of them. 

"Revitalizing the look of Route 611 in Horsham" has been a long-time lcoal government goal and one potentially advanced with NaBrasa's plan, Walker said.
