Man Caught Trying To Break Into Horsham Home: Police

Horsham Police charged a man with burglary at a Maple Glen home after he tried to flee on Saturday night.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A man is in custody after trying to burglarize a township home over the Memorial Day weekend, police said.

The Horsham Township Police Department said that 49-year-old Ishmir Ra was charged with burglary, loitering, and prowling at night after home surveillance cameras showed him trying to break into a Butler Pike home.

Police responded just after 9 p.m. Saturday to the home in the township's Maple Glen section after the homeowner, who was away, noticed a suspicious man loitering around their property on home surveillance cameras.

Horsham Police found Ra in the act of burglarizing the home.

Police said he bedded down in the grass and then fled on foot to attempt to elude police. Officers caught Ra, who had used a glass break tool to break a basement window, gaining access to the home.
