Military Exercises Starting At Horsham Air Base

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —For the next four days, residents and passers-by around the former Willow Grove base on Route 611 and Horsham Road may witness something rare but real.

But don't worry —it's only a drill

Horsham Township officials have announced that the 111th Attack Wing is alerting the public that "routine realistic military training" will be conducted at Biddle Air Guard Station from Thursday through Sunday.

The military operation will include ground mobility exercises, with a notable increase in forces, noises, and crowds, some extending into the evening hours.

Residents and visitors near the base may experience gunfire, sirens, and simulated explosion noises during this period.

The U.S. military has meticulously planned the exercises to minimize community impact, officials said.

The training sessions are not open to the public for safety considerations.
