Tanner Park Playground Ready for Unveiling

The long-awaited new playground at Tanner Park in Hatboro will be dedicated Sunday during a grand opening.

John Farnen has waited more than six years for this day. On Sunday, Farnen, Elm Street Hatboro's vice president, will finally have the chance to welcome neighborhood children onto the new playground at Tanner Park.

After years of fundraising and planning, the long-awaited playground equipment is installed and the bright-colored see-saw, ride-ons, sliding boards and climbing apparatus beckon children and passerby of the Jefferson Avenue and Tanner Road park. The 10 playground pieces are geared for kids ages 2 to 5 years old and 5 to 12 years old.

Besides the new playground, a lighted walkway has been installed for a more secure pathway for The Village Players of Hatboro patrons leaving a performance, or others traveling at night.
