IUP trustees approve doctorate for proposed medical school (triblive.com) — Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s trustees have approved a new doctorate in osteopathic medicine, moving the proposed medical school in Indiana another step closer to reality. The program and 70 related courses now await review by the state system’s Board of Governors, while IUP continues building clinical training partnerships, including with the Indiana County Coroner’s Office.

Nearly $4M in grants awarded to 177 museums, historical organizations across Pennsylvania (wpxi.com) — Two Indiana County institutions are getting new state support, with $9,000 for the Historical & Genealogical Society of Indiana County and $6,200 for the James M. Stewart Museum Foundation. They’re among 177 museums and historical groups statewide sharing nearly $4 million to bolster day-to-day operations, helping keep local history programs, exhibits, and research resources available to residents.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection awards $3.1M in clean water projects in 8 counties (outdoornews.com) — Indiana County is receiving more than $250,000 in state and federal clean-water funding to reassess pollution problems in the South Branch of Plum Creek and prioritize fixes. The grant is part of a larger $3.1 million package for watershed projects across Pennsylvania, aimed at restoring impaired streams, reducing runoff, and guiding future restoration work that will influence local water quality and flood resilience.
   

4. Jury selection set aside with plea in 2021 vehicular homicide case (indianagazette.com) — A 2021 vehicular homicide case in Indiana County has shifted course, with jury selection set aside after a plea was entered, according to filings tied to the Indiana County Courthouse. 5.
