• West Lampeter Township to raise property taxes 11% in 2026 (lancasteronline.com) — West Lampeter Township homeowners face an 11% property tax increase in 2026, raising the rate to 1.5 mills and bringing in about $230,000 in new revenue. Supervisors also reviewed an $8.6 million balanced budget and noted that Willow Valley Associates withdrew, but plans to resubmit, a major Willow Woods South housing proposal partly in neighboring Pequea Township.
   

• West Lampeter Township man sentenced to prison for stabbing father (lancasteronline.com) — A West Lampeter Township man has been sentenced to 73 months to 15 years in state prison for a violent 2024 assault that seriously injured his 80-year-old father. The case, heard in Lancaster County Court, highlighted his mental health and addiction struggles, while officials also pointed residents to local and national domestic violence support resources.
   

• New awards to honor Lancaster County hospitality workers; Here's how to nominate staff (lancasteronline.com) — Lancaster County hospitality workers can now be nominated for Discover Lancaster’s new 2026 Host Awards, with a red-carpet-style ceremony planned March 2 at American Music Theatre in East Lampeter Township. Local managers have until Jan. 15 to submit nominations across 30 hospitality categories, and $25 tickets for the event go on sale Jan. 5 with reservations due Feb. 20.
