Lancaster County brewery announces upcoming closure (abc27.com) — Truth Beer Company’s Lancaster taproom on North Prince Street will pour its last beers on December 22 as the owners close and sell the space to a friend who plans a new concept in early 2026. The brewery, which moved from Akron to Lancaster in 2024, is thanking loyal local customers for their support over the past three years.
   

2. Lancaster County officials, advocates still uncertain after Trump's reversal on homelessness funding (lancasteronline.com) — Lancaster County housing advocates and officials are grappling with a sudden Trump administration reversal that temporarily halts planned changes to federal homelessness funding but leaves long-term support uncertain. Local groups are still urging commissioners to commit $1.5 million in the 2026 budget to protect permanent housing programs, and residents can weigh in at a Dec. 16 budget hearing at the County Government Center.
   

3. 'I'm gonna pistol whip you': Lancaster County man threatens to assault men with gun while near children, police say (wgal.com) — Police say a man from Ephrata in Lancaster County is charged after allegedly entering an apartment lobby with a gun and threatening to “pistol whip” two men while children were nearby. Court documents describe frightened witnesses, prior displays of the firearm, and the man’s admission to carrying the gun during the confrontation. Charges include terroristic threats, simple assault, and reckless endangerment.
   

4. Maryland Sex Offender Accused of Luring 13-Year-Old Lancaster Girl on Snapchat (wgal.com) — Lancaster County parents should know police have charged a Maryland man with using Snapchat to contact and pick up a 13-year-old local girl before allegedly assaulting her at the Pequea boat ramp. Investigators say they traced his online activity, confirmed he is a registered sex offender, and linked him to another open case in York County. He now faces multiple charges and awaits a preliminary hearing.
   

5. State offering grants for watershed improvement in Lancaster, York counties (abc27.com) — Organizations in Lancaster County can now apply for state-backed grants of up to $75,000 for stream habitat and sediment reduction projects, funded by two regional power stations. Eligible projects must be in Lancaster or York counties, and applications are open through February 20, 2026, with awards expected in May.
