7-Year-Old Montco Girl Sexually Assaulted By 19-Year-Old New York Man: Reports
Police said a 19-year-old New York man forced a 7-year-old Montgomery County to perform oral sex on him. He faces numerous felony charges.
HATFIELD, PA — A New York man was arraigned earlier this week on child rape charges, with police alleging he forced a 7-year-old Montgomery County girl to perform oral sex on him when she was in his care.
Jordan Torres, 19, of Bronx, NY, has been charged with numerous felony counts of child rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, unlawful contact with a minor and sexual assault, along with misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, indecent exposure and endangering the welfare of children.
Court records show that the case was filed on July 8 by Hatfield Township Police and that Torres was arraigned earlier this week before Magisterial District Court Judge Paul N. Leo.

According to court records, Leo initially set bail at $250,000 but that during a subsequent county bail review hearing the bail amount was lowered to $99,000.
A report in North Penn Now says that the bail reduction is significant because in Montgomery County, defendants being held at the correctional facility on bail of $100,000 or more are held in segregation on 23-hour lockdown, but defendants held on less than that are placed into the jail's general population.

Based on this, it appears that Torres would be in general population while behind bars.
The North Penn Now story says that investigators received a report in the spring of 2021 relating to the suspected rape of the 7-year-old girl at her Hatfield home, at which time it is being alleged that Torres removed his clothes in front of the child and requested oral sex, which she subsequently performed.
Torres was reportedly known to the girl and her family, although the exact nature of the relationship was not divulged.
Records show that Torres is next due in court on July 27 for a preliminary hearing before Judge Leo.
Court records do not yet indicate any attorney representing Torres.
