UPPER GWYNEDD, PA — A Lansdale woman who damaged a friend's vehicle following an argument over social media posts two years ago has learned her fate in court.

Cieria Wynder, 30, was sentenced to a year of probation after she pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court to a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief-damage to property.

Court records show that Wynder entered her guilty plea on Sept. 14; she was sentenced on that same day by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas P. Rogers.

Upper Gwynedd Police had charged Wynder with a slew of misdemeanors back in December 2020 after officers received a report of a woman armed with a gun outside of someone's home on Browning Court in the township.

According to the Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department, it was initially reported on Dec. 21, 2020, that Wynder was believed to have fired a round from a handgun at a vehicle at the location and then fled the scene.

A detective who arrived at the scene spoke with Wynder's male friend, who stated that the two had a disagreement about a mutual friend's social media post, after which Wynder showed up at his home and engaged in an argument with the victim.

Wynder at first tried to strike the victim, but then went to her vehicle to retrieve a handgun and threatened the man, according to Upper Gwynedd Police.

The victim then went back inside his home, during which he and another witness looked outside to watch as Wynder moved her arms with a "quick motion," and used an object, likely a metal baseball bat, to strike the victim's vehicle, police stated.

The man said the incident left his vehicle with a smashed rear window.

In addition to the criminal mischief misdemeanor, Wynder had originally been charged with six additional misdemeanor counts along with a summary violation, but court records show those other charges were dropped in exchange for her guilty plea to the single misdemeanor.

In addition to giving Wynder a year of probation, the judge also ordered the woman to have no further contact with the victim, and to forfeit any firearms in her possession to the Montgomery County Detective Bureau if she has not already done so.
