MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA — A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held at the future site of a new early childhood education center.

Celebree School, which has locations throughout Maryland, the mid-Atlantic region and Texas, broke ground at its future Montgomeryville site at 411 Doylestown Road on Nov. 12.

The school — which says it is a leader in early childhood education, and provides infant and toddler care, preschool, before and after care, and summer camp programs — is slated to open in 2022.

"From infant care to before and after school programs to summer camp, we are proud to play an important role in helping families raise independent, thoughtful children who are excited about learning," Celebree School says on its website. "Our child care centers on the concept of community. We create schools full of parents and educators who focus completely on your child's well-being and happiness; a place where we instill a love of learning and community."

The school's history dates back to 1994, when Richard Huffman opened his first child care location in Ellicott City, MD, according to the website.

From there, the business branched out, and by 2018 there were a total of 26 Celebree School locations throughout Maryland and Delaware.

In addition to the planned Montgomeryville site, the Celebree School's website shows two additional Pennsylvania locations soon slated to open: one in Norristown and the other in Warrington, Bucks County.

The business is structured as a franchising opportunity, with different franchisees operating the various locations independently.

The Montgomeryville school will be run by franchisees Claas and Jessica Wiley-Ritzmann, who recently attended the groundbreaking of that site along with their three children, according to the school.
