Daveler Gets Lifetime Achievement Award
Lansdale Founders Day Committee named Lansdale's fire marshal and the former chief of Fairmount Fire Company as its first award winner
On Saturday, a lifetime of doing what he loved has been officially recognized by the public.
John P. "Jay" Daveler, Lansdale's current fire marshal and ex-chief of Fairmount Fire Co., was honored during the opening ceremonies of Founders Day.
Daveler was given an engraved, glass plaque engraved with the following:

For more than a half century of dedication to Lansdale and the North Penn Valley as a businessman, firefighter and community leader. Mr. Daveler's countless hours of volunteerism and exemplary wise counsel have greatly contributed to the betterment of his hometown
A biography of Daveler was read by Lansdale Police Sgt. Dean Miller, and Rep. Bob Godshall, R-53, followed up with a proclamation from the State House.
