Norristown Police Vehicles To Use 'Cruise Lights' Full Time

The lights will be employed as a crime deterrence tool, police said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The Norristown Police Department began the full time use of "cruise lights" on all police cruisers on Jan. 1, they announced.

The lights will be employed as a crime deterrence tool, police said, by "significantly increasing officer visibility during routine patrols."

The lights are described as low intensity, steady and non-flashing, and red and blue.
