Discover Lansdale Seeking Executive Director

The Lansdale event organization and fundraising nonprofit Discover Lansdale needs a leader.

Discover Lansdale is currently seeking an executive director to "lead, facilitate, plan, manage and navigate" its mission and purpose, according to the job description at www.DiscoverLansdale.org.

The job requires a four-year college degree in marketing, business administration or communications. Management of special events or supervisory experience is a plus.

The executive director's main job would be to assist with existing events and create new events to attract people to Lansdale. New events would call for the executive director to meet with the Public Safety Committee, according to the job description.

Fundraising for all the events would be the responsibility of the executive director as well.

A few other responsibilities of the executive director include:

• Manage the Discover Lansdale Office, facilitate the board meetings and serve as spokesperson for Discover Lansdale
• Identify and secure corporate, private foundation and public sector funding to support the programs and initiatives of Discover Lansdale
• Develop evaluation criteria and mechanisms for measuring the economic development impact of special events in the community and the proposed Business Improvement District
• Manage the finances of Discover Lansdale and prepare monthly reports for the Discover Lansdale Board of Directors

Skills sought include public speaking, public administration knowledge, and knowledge of marketing and public relations principles.
