LANSDALE, PA — A 47-year-old man was killed earlier this week during a single vehicle accident.

The Lansdale Police Department said that officers responded early Tuesday morning to the area of East Seventh and North Chestnut Streets for a report of a crash, and upon arrival, officers found a man identified as Stephan Miller unrestrained and unresponsive in his vehicle.

Police at the scene tried to give Miller medical aid until a team of medics arrived.

Miller was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators working to piece together what happened found that Miller had struck two parked vehicles, causing severe damage to both, at the time of the impact.

Leaking fluids from the two vehicles ran into the storm drain and ultimately caused members of the Fairmount Fire Company and the Fire Marshal's Office to respond to help clear the scene.

Police did not offer any indication as to what might have caused Miller to crash into the vehicles, or whether or not speed or any other factors may have played a role in the deadly crash.

The department said that the investigation into the matter is ongoing, and they ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to reach out to Lansdale Police at 215-368-1801.

Lansdale Police were assisted at the scene by Hatfield police officers assigned to the North Penn Crash Team as well as members of the Montgomery Township Police Department.

The accident occurred just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
