Fire Devastates Homeless Advocacy Nonprofit In Montgomery Twp.
A fundraiser has been launched after the fire left significant damage this week.
MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — A devastating fire severely damaged the property at a homeless advocacy organization in Montgomery Township this week, and a fundraiser has now been launched to help them recover.
The blaze began at Mitzvah Circle, located on 435 Doylestown Road, on the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The blaze spread quickly and destroyed two truckloads of new clothing, diapers, baby gear, a trailer used for donations, and part of the nonprofit's main building, officials said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze itself is not yet clear.
Mitzvah Circle works to help homeless individuals and those experience poverty get back on their feet. They provide essential goods, along with guidance and assistance gaining employment and housing, to those in need.

Much of what they can give comes from donations, and that is what was destroyed in the blaze.
"Mitzvah Circle is an amazing organization that helps families everyday like our own," Bridgeport Mayor Beth Jacksier said. "They suffered major donation losses from a fire that would have gone to those in need, so they can use our help now more than ever."
