Freight Train Hits Truck In Lansdale, 2 Teens Seriously Injured

LANSDALE, PA — A freight train crashed into a truck in Lansdale early Tuesday morning, injuring two people, according to authorities.

The accident shut down all service on SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown regional rail heading into the city, and trains bound for the suburbs are only running up to the Glenside station.

The incident occurred on Broad Street just after 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The victims were both teenaged boys, according to Fox 29. They had driven the truck around the stop-arm when they were struck, CBS Philadelphia reports.

The teens are in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Broad Street remains shut down from Vine Street to Main Street Tuesday morning.

The crash is under investigation.
