Lansdale And Souderton Borough's Have Received Grants To Buy Emergency Equipment
Lansdale Borough will receive close to $60K while Souderton Borough will get just over $23K. The money will be used to buy equipment.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A local state legislator has announced the awarding of state grant money to two Montgomery County municipalities for the purchasing of new emergency equipment.
State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-53, announced Tuesday that the boroughs of Lansdale and Souderton in his legislative district are getting grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Developoment to help fund local projects.
Lansdale Borough has been awarded $59,150 for the purchase of a pickup truck and emergency management equipment designed to "improve efficiency and effectiveness in responding to emergency situations," according to a statement from Malagari's office.

Souderton Borough is being given a grant in the amount of $23,350 to buy traffic equipment needed for its police department to study traffic flow and monitor vehicle speed.
"Working closely with local officials to identify important needs, it became clear our area could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency management capabilities, as well as take measures to improve roadway safety," Malagari said in a statement. "The grants approved today will help our area respond to emergencies by improving the time and resources needed, as well as address the need to keep residents safe on local roadways.

Malagari's office says the legislator was instrumental in securing the grant money.
