FRANCONIA TOWNSHIP, PA — A city man has been criminally charged in connection with a gunpoint robbery of a gas station in this Montgomery County community, according to media reports and court records.
Carlos Gaillard, 29, of Philadelphia, was arrested on charges of felony robbery and other counts relating to an armed robbery of the Liberty Gas Station on the 300 block of Harleysville Pike in Franconia on Sept. 26 at around 9:30 p.m., according to this report on NorthPennNow.

Gaillard, who is also facing additional misdemeanor charges, was arraigned on Sept. 28 before Magisterial District Court Judge Henry J. Schireson and he was sent to county jail after failing to post $50,000 cash bail, according to court records in the case.
The NorthPennNow story states that Gaillard was allegedly identified as the suspect who had entered the Liberty Gas Station, pointed a gun at the clerk, took money from the cash register, and ordered the victim to hand over the keys to an ATM.

The clerk reportedly recognized the defendant because he was known to be a frequent customer at the station, the report states.
Gaillard is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 7 before Magisterial District Court Judge Albert Augustine.
During a preliminary hearing, a lower court judge determines whether or not there is enough evidence in a criminal case to hold the defendant over for trial in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.
Court records show that the defendant is being represented in this matter by the Montgomery County Public Defender Office.
