Hatfield Police Have Filed A Felony Hit-And-Run Charge Against A Local Man
Paul Thomas Nogami, 54, of Hatfield is facing a felony charge after police say he was involved in a hit-and-run accident last September.
HATFIELD, PA — A local man has been charged with a felony after police say he struck a pedestrian back in September in Hatfield Borough, an accident that caused the victim to be hospitalized with various injuries for more than a week, according to media reports and court records.
Paul Thomas Nogami, 54, of Hatfield, Montgomery County, was charged with felony-grade accidents involving death or personal injury, along with summary violations of failing to stop and render aid, improper turn, and failing to notify police of an accident involving injury or death, court records show.
Nogami was arrested in late December and his next court appearance is a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 23 before Magisterial District Judge Edward Levine, according to a criminal docket sheet.

The website North Penn Now reported that the accident in question occurred on Sept. 6 at around 10:53 a.m. at the intersection of South Main and West Broad Streets in Hatfield.
The news report stated that arriving Hatfield police officers found the male victim lying in a pool of blood about 91 feet away from the crosswalk, and that Nogami didn't return to the accident scene until 21 minutes after he allegedly struck the victim while making a turn with his vehicle.

Investigators said the victim suffered multiple injuries including a dislocated right shoulder, multiple facial fractures, a mandible fracture and various abrasions as a result of being hit by Nogami's vehicle, according to the North Penn Now report.
Records show that Nogami is being represented by Lansdale attorney William E. Moore.
