Lansdale Gets $292K For West Fifth Street Park
Lansdale has received a major state grant to improve local parkland.
LANSDALE, PA — Lansdale will receive a major state grant to rehabilitate the West Fifth Street Park, local officials announced.
The $292,000 grant is part of $877,000 in funding announced by State Sen. Maria Collett for projects around the local area.
The Lansdale project will renovate the basketball court, build a new parking area, install play equipment, add ADA access, build in landscaping, and more.

"Investing in our outdoor recreational spaces and natural landscapes is not only what makes our communities such wonderful places to live and connect with one another, but it drives economic growth and development," State Sen. Collett said in a statement. "I’m looking forward to seeing these projects come to fruition and I’m always proud to invest in initiatives that create accessible outdoor spaces."

- Lower Gwynedd Township will receive $250,000 for improvements in Oxford Park
- Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust will receive $300,000 for the acquisition of approximately 14.34 acres of land along Edgehill Road and Huntingdon Road
- Upper Dublin Township will receive $35,000 to study the expansion of the Green Ribbon Trail
Funding comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
