Lansdale Gets $350,000 For Whites Road Park Comfort Station

Projects in Lansdale, Hatfield, and Towamencin received $1.5 million in funding from the state this week, officials announced.

LANSDALE, PA — The greater Lansdale area has received a swath of state funding for several projects, including a new restroom facility at Whites Road Park, State Rep. Steve Malagari and State Sen. Maria Collett announced.

The $390,212 grant for Whites Road park is part of a larger $1.5 million investment into projects around the local area, including in Hatfield and North Wales.

“From upgrading electrical systems to creating better community spaces, this funding ensures that our community will benefit from enhanced public safety, reliable infrastructure, and enjoyable recreational facilities," Malagari said. In Lansdale, the funding will be used to install "an accessible restroom structure" within the park and connect it to water and sewer lines, officials said.

"The new facility will encourage greater park usage and increase the number of community events held at the park," according to officials.

Other local projects getting funding from the state:

  • Hatfield Public Safety Facility – Site Electrical Work: $500,000
  • Hatfield Township Municipal Authority – Electrical Systems Upgrade: $250,000
  • North Wales Water Authority – Warehouse Roof Replacement: $350,000
  • North Penn Water Authority – Elevator Replacement: $100,000
