Lansdale Man Charged With Homicide After Fatal Bucks Co. Crash
The driver said he looked down at his phone and lost control of his SUV before crashing into oncoming traffic, according to police.
DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A 24-year-old Lansdale man is facing a slew of charges, including homicide, after police alleged he caused a fatal crash Tuesday on Route 202 in Doylestown Township.
Paul Sylvester Foster was charged Tuesday with felony counts of homicide by vehicle and accidents involving death or injury while not licensed, as well as involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person and several summary traffic violations, according to Bucks County court records.
Police allege Foster was driving 21 miles over the speed limit and looking at his phone when he crossed the double yellow lines on Route 202 around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday near the Wells Road overpass.

A reconstruction of the crash shows Foster swerved out of oncoming traffic and drove off the right side of the road before losing control again and crashing head-on into a vehicle driving the other direction, police said.
Randee Travis, the driver of the other vehicle, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash, police said.

The reconstruction showed Foster did not try to brake before the crash, according to Doylestown Township police.
Foster was released on bond Wednesday after a Bucks County judge set his bail at $50,000, according to court records. He is due to appear in court Sept. 13 for a preliminary hearing.
