Lansdale Man Gets Prison Time For Baseball Bat Assault On Woman

LANSDALE, PA — A local man has pleaded guilty in connection with a baseball attack on a woman in early 2021 during a domestic disturbance, and a judge has sentenced him to between four and eight years in prison for the crime.
Edward Dyson, Jr., 42, of Lansdale, was sentenced to prison on Feb. 4 after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, according to court records and media reports.
Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Wendy Rothstein handed down the four-to-eight-year prison sentence after Dyson admitted that he committed the felony attack on the victim.

The Times Herald newspaper in Norristown reported that Dyson will receive credit for the one year he spent in county jail while awaiting court action in the case.
Dyson had been arrested back in early February 2021 after Lansdale police responded to a report of a woman who was bleeding from the head after being struck by a baseball bat during a domestic altercation, according to the Times Herald account.

The paper reported that Dyson began to beat the victim while ranting about some sort of conspiracy that was going on.
The victim was treated at the hospital for her injuries but survived the attack.
Dyson was originally charged with additional counts — another felony plus a host of misdemeanors — but those charges were dismissed after Dyson pleaded guilty to the felony aggravated assault charge, according to court records.
