The Lansdale Police Department has named Officer John Albany as its Officer of the Year for 2021.
The award, which dates back to 2014, is presented to the officer who receives the most votes from his professional peers.

The award is generally given out at the end-of-the-year recognition ceremony, but this year it was handled virtually due to the global pandemic.
The Lansdale Police Department said that offices are asked each year to vote for the officer of the year based on an individual's work performance, performance as a team member and positive attitude on the job.
