Lansdale Wawa Evacuates Due to Unknown Odor
Towamencin first responders act fast to search for unsafe conditions.

The Towamencin fire and police services were called to the Wawa at 200 Forty Foot Rd in Lansdale at 9:10pm on Saturday, May 4. According to one of Wawa’s customer service associates, an employee detected a strong odor of what they thought may have been gas and quickly took action to call for help and evacuate staff.
The fire squad spent about ten minutes searching the building with equipment to detect dangerous gases but found nothing of concern. They soon declared it safe to reenter and left the area. Wawa employees were then able to return to work and continue serving their patrons for the night.
Thankfully, no customers or employees were injured, and the local first responders were able to ensure there was no danger to the public.
