Moms Talk Q&A: Get out and enjoy some parks

One reader asked about the best parks to enjoy the warm weather this week and in the summertime

Each week, we take time out on Lansdale Patch to answer the questions that concern our moms. We welcome all moms, dads, grandparents, friends and family to check out our questions and add to our answers. This space is for you to both ask and answer any questions!

We know that being a parent means getting advice from others, and this space can be that forum for you. As Hillary Clinton’s book title implied, “It takes a village … ,” and moms in Lansdale can rely on Patch to be there with an answer to their parenting questions.

This week, we were asked about ways to enjoy the rays.

“I wanted to ask about parks — anyone planning any outdoor activities next week? Expecting 50s and even — wow — 60s — next week. We're right in Lansdale Borough and plan to hit up a few parks — how about you?”

Great idea, Kali! With warmer weather this week, and what is expected to be a gorgeous weekend, it is a wonderful time to head to the area’s many parks.

If you are in the Lansdale area, like Kali, check out these must-see outdoor spaces.

1. With a basketball court and a big playground, this is a great spot to get out some energy during this warm-weather weekend.

2. : With walking paths and benches, this is a great place to just take a stroll and get some fresh air.

3.  : Properly named for its location just off the SEPTA tracks, this hot spot has street hockey, sports fields and courts, and roller and ice skating rinks.

4. With 33 acres, this is the largest park in Lansdale, with lots of room to stretch your legs in the great outdoors.

5. : It's got a manmade pond, swings, seesaws, a gazebo and even a lookout hill. There's even a meditation labyrinth.

Enjoy the great outdoors this week, and get the kids out of that cabin fever funk. Take some time to enjoy the local parks during this warm up, and defrost the family.

If you have a question you’d like answered next week, please respond in our comments. Likewise, if you think we missed your favorite park, let us know there, too! This space is for you!
