Montco Child Rape Case Goes To Trial Later This Year
Brian Marchini, 48, of Colmar, Pa., is charged with raping a young girl between 2000 and 2005. After pre-trial hearings, trial is now set.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A jury trial has been scheduled for a man accused of raping a young girl during the early 2000s when the child was under 10 years of age.
A Montgomery County judge has scheduled trial to begin in late November for Brian Marchini, 48, a Lansdale-area man arrested back in January 2021 over allegations that he repeatedly raped a young girl who was in his care back between 2000 and 2005.
Patch reported on the case after Marchini was taken into custody early last year.

Court records show that Marchini is now expected to go on trial beginning on Nov. 21 in the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. Trial is expected to last about three days, the docket sheet shows.
Police in Lansdale said the sexual assaults took place at various locations in the region, and happened while the victim, who was between the ages of 5 and 9 at the time, was in Marchini's care, according to a story by North Penn Now, which cited a police criminal complaint.
Court records show that Marchini has been free and out in the community after a bail bondsman posted $250,000 surety bond back after Marchini's arraignment.
Marchini is facing a total of 127 criminal counts relating to the child rape, all of which were held over for trial following the defendant's preliminary hearing last year, according to court records.
The charges include a mix of both felonies and misdemeanors.
They include, but are not limited to, rape by forcible compulsion, rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, false imprisonment, aggravated assault of a person less than 13 years of age, indecent assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, and more.
Court records show that Marchini is being represented by Norristown-based defense attorney Basil David Beck, III.
