Montco Commissioners Meeting Heads 'On The Road' To Montgomery Twp

Commissioners are looking to get more of the community involved in local government.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is continuing a new tradition of taking their biweekly board meeting "on the road," this time heading to Montgomery Township on Oct. 10.

The event will take place in the Montgomery Township Municipal Building on 1001 Stump Road in Montgomeryville from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For an hour before the meeting, the county will have an open house with voter services and planning commission tables set up with resources for the community. A flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic will also be on site.

“We’re keeping our promise to engage with the community with our meetings on the road, and this time we’re bringing some of our County colleagues on the road with us,” Montgomery County Commissioner Jamila Winder said in a statement. "For those in the North Penn area who aren’t able to attend our regular meetings during the day in Norristown, we hope you can come out and participate."

All meetings are open to the public.

“It is crucial that Montgomery County residents have the opportunity to interact with their County Commissioners in person, Commissioner Thomas DiBello added. “We had a tremendous turnout for our first on-the-road meeting earlier this year, and residents took advantage of the time outside working hours to share valuable insights about their communities.”

The pre-meeting tables will include interactive posters and the ability for residents to weigh in on ongoing issues, such as transportation, housing, open space, trails, and more.

The next commissioners meeting will be held in Norristown at One Montgomery Plaza on Oct. 24 at 10 a.m.
