Montco Community College Offers Tuition Waivers: How To Apply
Here's how Montgomery County residents left unemployed during the coronavirus pandemic can apply for additional tuition assistance.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Mongomery County residnets who lost their jobs during the coronavirus pandemic are now eligible for a tuition waiver at Montgomery County Community College.
The college this week announced the tuition waiver, called the Montco Recovery Tuition Assistance Program, is open to full- and part-time students and prospective students who lost their jobs on or after March 6. Students must submit documentation showing they lost their job due to the pandemic or Gov. Tom Wolf's emergency disaster declaration.
In a news release, the college announced tuition waivers will be applied after applicable grants, scholarships and workforce training funds are applied.

Students taking between three and six credits can have the cost of up to three credits waived, the college said. Students taking between seven and 11 credits can have six credits waived, and students taking 12 or more credits can have up to nine credits waived.
Students who are taking financial aid-eligible, non-credit courses can have up to a $1,300 tuition discount.

To apply, students must have a FAFSA on file and be a Montgomery County resident. They must also submit documentation showing they suffered financial difficulty due to job loss resulting from the pandemic.
Students can learn more and complete an application for the Montco Recovery Tuition Assistance Program online.
To qualify, residents must register for enrollment and complete a FAFSA. The deadlines to register for the spring 2021 session are Jan. 20 for the 15-week session and first 7-week session. Students attending the second 7-week session must register by March 22.
