Montco Feed Mill, In Business For 150 Years, Is Shutting Down

The local feed mill has been doing business since the 1870s.

SOUDERTON, PA — A Montgomery County feed mill will close its doors after 150 years in business, they announced recently.

Moyer and Sons feed mill, located off Railroad Avenue in Souderton, will begin "winding down" its operations over the coming weeks.

The company said that the Moyer Store, its main operation, will continue. The store offers products in lawn care, pest control, plumbing, propane, HVAC, and more.

"Moyer continues to be local, family owned and operated, and we look forward to serving our community for another 150 years," the company said in a statement.

Moyer did not give a specific reason for the closure of the feed mill, noting only that it had been a "difficult decision."

About two dozen employees are impacted by the closure of the feed mill, and the company said they will seek to find them roles elsewhere at Moyer.
