Montgomery County Man Is Facing Allegations That He Raped His Neighbor During A Gathering

Richard Ricardo Plummer, 43, of Lansdale, has been arrested and charged with allegedly raping his female neighbor during a get together.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — A local man has been arrested and charged with raping his neighbor during a get together at his home this past summer.

Richard Ricardo Plummer, 43, was arrested by Montgomery Township Police officers earlier this week on charges that he sexually assaulted a female neighboring during a gathering at his home on Aug. 11, 2021, according to media reports and court records.

According to an article on the website North Penn Now, the victim's husband told police dispatchers that his wife had returned from their neighbor's home claiming to have been raped by the man after she had been drinking with Plummer and his fiancé.

The article says that Plummer denied ever having been alone with the victim or harming her in any way, but the victim claimed she awoke after losing consciousness and found the defendant raping her.

State court records show that Plummer has been charged with felony counts of rape by forcible compulsion, rape of an unconscious victim, and sexual assault.

He also faces three different misdemeanor indecent assault charges.

Records show that Plummer was arraigned on March 29 by Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Kelly Rebar, who set bail at 10 percent of $50,000 cash.

Records also show that a private individual posted the $5,000 in order to get Plummer released from custody.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 5 before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Hudak Duffy.

According to court records, Plummer is being represented by Glenside-based attorney Brian P. McVan.
