Montco Police Join Western PA PDs In Sending Police Swag To Pittsburgh Boy Battling Cancer

A handful of police departments in the North Penn area sent patches and swag to a boy who is battling cancer in a Pittsburgh hospital.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A handful of police agencies in the North Penn area have sent police patches and other swag to a young boy who is currently battling cancer in a western Pennsylvania hospital.

The Lansdale Borough Police Department said Tuesday that it had sent the patches and other items to Joshua Eastman at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Children's Hospital.

Eastman's story has been told in western Pennsylvania news media recently.

Pittsburgh's Action News Channel 4 reported on Wednesday that 76 police departments from around the Pittsburgh area had already showed up to the hospital to hand-deliver their own badges and memorabilia to the 8-year-old boy.

The news station reported that Eastman, who has been hospitalized with cancer for nearly two months, got to watch from a window as police officers paraded their way to make the delivery of the items.

Here in Montgomery County, the Lansdale Police Department said that it, along with other area departments, also recently made their own delivery of items.

Those other North Penn-area departments are from Montgomery Township, Upper Gwynedd Township, Hatfield Township and Towamencin Township.

Lansdale police also said that young Eastman enjoys getting and reading mail, and the department provided the address for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, which is 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15224.
