Montco Seeks Poll Workers For Elections, Primaries

Pay can be up to $140 or more for a day of working the polls.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Montgomery County officials are seeking poll workers for upcoming elections. Residents who want to be involved in the democratic process are welcome to apply.

According to a flyer, applicants must be registered Montgomery County voters, be physically capable of sitting or standing, hearing voters and writing information.

Democratic primaries are set for Tuesday, April 28.

The pay is $110 for a full day, or 13 or more hours, and $55 for a half day, or eight hours, for most poll workers.

Judge of Election

In charge of Election Day activities & personnel inside the polling location (makes $140 or more for the day)

Inspectors: Majority & Minority

Manages the poll books and distributes Voter Ready slips

Minority Clerk

Works with the Inspectors and completes the Numbered List of Voters

Machine Operator

Opens and closes the voting machines; assists each voter to cast their vote

There are several training classes held at different locations before each election.
