HARRIBSURG — A western Montgomery County state representative who is seeking the soon-to-be-vacant state Senate seat now occupied by Republican incumbent Bob Mensch says she received more than double the required signatures needed to officially be on the election ballot.

Tracy Pennycuick, a Republican who currently represents portions of western Montgomery County in the state House, released a statement Monday saying that she got more than the necessary signatures required to appear on May's primary ballot after her nominating petitions were tallied.

"Our momentum is building, and I appreciate the amazing support our grassroots army has delivered during this process," Pennycuick said in her statement. "I'm proud that our team gathered 1,170 signatures, and I am humbled by their support. This is just the beginning. We will be back out this weekend, meeting with voters, and delivering my message to the residents of the 24th State Senate District."
