Applications For Police Officer At Various Montco Departments Are Now Being Accepted

Police officer applications will be accepted for a number of law enforcement agencies countywide beginning on Jan 3. Testing follows.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Nineteen police departments across the county will soon be hiring new officers, with applications for employment being accepted starting Jan. 3, and testing to commence in February.

The Montgomery County Consortium of Communities, on behalf of their respective civil service commissions or municipalities, have announced that it will be conducting written police officer examinations on Feb. 19, 2022 at the Spring-Ford Area High School, located at 350 South Lewis Road in Royersford, beginning at 8 a.m.

Police departments from the following municipalities will participate in the testing, in preparation for bringing new officers aboard:

Ambler, Cheltenham, Collegeville, Hatboro, Limerick, Lower Gwynedd, Marlborough, Montgomery, Norristown, North Wales, Rockledge, Souderton, Springfield, Towamencin, Upper Moreland, Upper Perkiomen, Upper Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove and Whitpain.

Police officer applications, for those who are interested in starting a career in law enforcement, will be available here beginning on Jan. 3 at 8 a.m.

The single, unified application will be able to be used for any of the departments for which a candidate is eligible.

Applicants who will take the written examination in February must report for registration at 8 a.m. on the day of the test, and nobody will be admitted after 8:30 a.m.

All applicants must bring a photo ID, two number 2 pencils and a facemask. No masks will be provided at the site.

No food, drink, cell phones, backpacks, hats, weapons or purses will be permitted into the testing facility.
