"Our agency has provided our officers with Autism Awareness Training to educate them and help them to better understand how to properly respond to individuals in need of assistance," police shared in a statement. "The Occupant with Autism Program provides decals to residents and those who frequent Montgomery Township that can be placed on the rear window of your vehicle or the front door or window of your home. By recognizing the decal, officers can draw upon their autism training and adjust their approach accordingly."

Decals can be picked up at the Montgomery Township Police Department on 1001 Stump Road.
