No New Taxes in Hilltown Township
About $3 million will be expensed next year to Hilltown Township Police.
Hilltown Township Supervisors approved the $6 million 2014 budget Nov. 25 with no real estate tax increase, according to The Perkasie News Herald.
The millage rate remains at 8.75 mills. One mill equals $1 for every $1,000 of assessed property value. For a home assessed at $200,000, the yearly tax bill is $1,750.
Expenditures are estimated at $6,172,487 for 2014. About $363,000 in the general fund is expected to be carried over into 2015, per the report. The largest expense in 2014 is the police department at $3,302,977, which includes buying three new police cars.
Hilltown will also spend about $40,000 on engineering services for the Mill Road bridge, which is supplementally funded by a $578,550 grant.
