North Penn, like many area districts, has put multiple options on the table, including a full in-person option, a full online option, and a hybrid option. Families were given the option to choose, and were asked to return their preferences to the district by this past Tuesday.
Officials have been going over options, reviewing public feedback, and analyzing guidance from various agencies. They said they feel prepared to move towards a final decision Thursday. That decision was originally not slated to come out until Aug. 11.

"The board of directors feels it now has enough information for public discussion and to vote on a reopening plan so that the school community can move forward," the district said in a statement.
Some districts in Montgomery County have moved forward with a multi-option plan, while others, like Norristown and Upper Dublin, have decided not to reopen schools to any in-person instruction in 2020, keeping it online at least through the New Year.
The decision-making process was moved up from Aug. 11 to give parents and students as much time to prepare for the new school year as possible, regardless of the decision.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30. You can watch the meeting live on North Penn TV's Youtube channel. The public can submit comments and questions to schoolreopening@npenn.org.
