North Penn School District Middle School Teacher, Fully Vaccinated, Dies From COVID-19
Andrew Jenkins, 47, was fully vaccinated but still died from COVID-19. He was a teacher in the North Penn School District for 15 years.

LANSDALE, PA — A local middle school teacher who was fully vaccinated against COVID-19 died recently after a short battle with the virus.
Andrew G. Jenkins, 47, of Allentown, passed away on Christmas Day, according to his obituary.
The obituary says Jenkins, who taught middle school in the North Penn School District for 15 years, had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. It did not say whether or not he had also received a booster shot.

Jenkins, who spent his career teaching students at Pennfield Middle School, was a 1992 graduate of William Allen High School. He was born and raised in west Allentown, his obituary states.
Jenkins, who excelled in football and wrestling when he was younger, attended James Madison University on a wrestling scholarship and later transferred to Moravian University on a football scholarship, according to his obituary.

He later earned a bachelor's degree from Moravian and a master's in education from Wilkes University.
Jenkins is survived by his fiance, Andrea Buckno, as well as a brother, sister, nieces and his 8-year-old Newfoundland, Reagan.
Funeral services for Jenkins will be private.
Donations can be made in his memory to the Lehigh County Humane Society.
