North Penn Schools Get $340K Grant For School Safety Improvements

Officials hope to use the funds to improve security infrastructure and hire more mental health experts.

LANSDALE, PA — North Penn School District has received a major grant worth $340,000 from the state to improve school safety and mental health resources, officials announced.

It's part of more than $700,000 in funding for schools around the local region, State Rep. Steve Malagari said.

“These investments demonstrate Pennsylvania’s commitment to ensuring every child has access to a safe and supportive educational environment,” Malagari said in a statement. “By strengthening security measures and expanding mental health resources, we are making schools safer for students to succeed academically.”

Specifically, the grants will go toward hiring more mental health experts, improving security infrastructure, and providing more career resources.
