It Appears Democrat Neil McDevitt Won North Wales Mayor's Race By Six Votes
The most recent election returns from the county showed Democrat Neil McDevitt ahead of Republican Greg D'Angelo by six votes.

NORTH WALES, PA — A mere six votes appear to separate the two candidates running for mayor in the borough, and the Democratic challenger seems to be the front runner.
Neil McDevitt seems to be ahead of Republican incumbent Greg D'Angelo by an extremely small number of votes — six to be precise — and 97 mail-in ballots are still outstanding across the county.
Still, those untallied votes are countywide, meaning they may not sway this race in any way.

For now, it appears that Democrat McDevitt has ousted D'Angelo from his position.
“While the count hasn’t been officially certified yet, I am humbled and privileged to have been elected to serve as the next Mayor for North Wales Borough,” McDevitt stated on Facebook on Nov. 7. "This campaign has taught me the value of putting aside the rhetoric of the national debate and focusing squarely on the issues that affect us, whether we live on Main Street, West Street, 10th Street and all the points in between."

The most recent vote count was 502 for McDevitt, the challenger, and 496 for D'Angelo, the incumbent.
In his recent Facebook post, McDevitt went on to praise D'Angelo for his eight years serving the borough, saying that while the two may not agree in all areas, "we do deeply care about the Borough.
"I hope he will continue to be involved and if he is willing, I'd deeply appreciate his counsel and perspective," McDevitt wrote about his opponent.
In his post, McDevitt also noted that this election represents the first time anywhere in America that a "Deaf person using American Sign Language has been directly elected as Mayor in their community.
"I hope my little moment in North Wales inspires many more to be come involved in their communities in this way," he wrote.
