Protest Against President Trump To Be Held In Lansdale
The "Good Trouble Lives On" event is being organized in honor of the spirit of civil rights icon John Lewis.

LANSDALE, PA — A protest against President Trump's administration and recent policies which critics say are violations of civil and human rights will be held in Lansdale this week.
It's part of a coordinated set of protests and gatherings nationwide coinciding with the date of the passing of Congressman John Lewis, an icon of the civil rights movements for decades. Lewis passed on July 17, 2020.
The "Good Trouble Lives On" event will take place on Thursday, July 17 at the intersection of Main Street and Madison Street.

"From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights," event organizers said. "But we know the truth. In America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it."
The Lansdale protest is being organized by Community for Change and Lansdale Equality Coalition.

Organizers encourage protesters to bring towels, wash clothes, shampoo, conditions, soap, and body wash to donate to Manna on Main.
Organizers said they expect all participants to embrace the nonviolent principles advanced by Lewis and championed by the movement, and that protesters should seek to "de-escalate" any potential confrontations with those who disagree with them.
