As of Friday morning, Montgomery Township had not yet declared a snow emergency in anticipation of what the National Weather Service was calling "a potential historic winter snow storm and blizzard" that was expected to hit the Montgomery Township area Friday and Saturday.

What if I get towed?
- Montgomery Township Police have the authority to tow vehicles deemed a hindrance to traffic or snowplowing/salting operations.
- Fines during a snow emergency: Failure to move a car from a snow emergency route — $15; driving on a snow emergency route without snow tires or chains — $25.

- You have 30 hours after a snowfall to shovel and clear sidewalks.
- According to the township's Emergency Management, "Each property owner should check their mailbox front to ensure that it is the minimum of 6 inches behind the face of the curb, which is within federal postal regulations. Prior to the start of winter, the homeowner should reset any mailboxes protruding past the minimum measurement of 6 inches behind the face of the curb."
